Just yesterday there was a fairly large storm in Sydney, being me I whipped out my camera and stood on my balcony trying to take what I could. I had never done photography of lightning before, so I had I rapidly work out how exactly one does it, in the end I settled on extended exposures, rather than trying to catch the moment it appears, which proved impossible.

This was the best shot I got of the night, with multiple tongues of lightning, its still neds to be touched up a little bit in photoshop, but I still think its awesome.
